Requirements:

Master’s degree in Communication, or Bachelor degree in Communication & 5 years of directly communication experience, or Associate degree & 10 years of directly related experience or, High school diploma / GED & 12 years of directly related experience

A Communication Manager needs a mix of strategic, creative, and technical skills to manage internal and external communication effectively. Here are the key competencies:
1. Writing and Story Telling:
• Content development: Creating compelling content for newsletter, capsules, and digital platforms
• Editing & Proofreading: Ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand guidelines
• Corporate Storytelling: Translating complex ideas into relatable narratives for different audience
2. Strategic Communication Skills:
• Communication planning: Developing and implementing communication strategies aligned with business goals
• Brand Messaging: Ensuring consistency in brand voice and messaging across all platforms
3. Leadership & Collaboration:
• Stakeholder Management: Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and maintain positive relationships
4. Digital and Media Expertise:
• Social Media Management: Preferred knowledge of Share Point for creating tools and resources for end users
• Video Content Creation: Preferred knowledge of Vyond for creating short videos
5. Internal Communication:
• End-user Engagement: Developing initiatives to foster a strong adoption of a new system
• Change Management Communication: Guiding organizations through transitions with clear messaging
• Feedback Mechanism: Implementing surveys and feedback loops for continuous improvement
These competencies ensure that a Communication Manager can effectively lead communication efforts, foster a positive work environment, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Job Description:

Working with limited supervision, will be responsible for internal communications activities to support key business objectives, including communication planning, high-level project management and tactical execution. Functions: Working closely with the site leadership and Senior Communications Manager, Human Resources, and the Corporate Communications team in Thousand Oaks, CA, will develop and execute communications programs that help ensure that staff is engaged, informed, and focused on key business objectives, and promote achievements among staff. Reporting to the Site Head through the Senior Communications Manager, will be accountable to the respective leaders of the functions at the site and to Corporate Communications. Build and maintain a close, collaborative relationship with staff in a variety of functional areas, as well as with other site and functional communicators to ensure alignment and integration of messages and initiatives. Manage social media initiatives and utilize all available communications technologies. Effectively execute projects within a matrix environment, where multiple customers and stakeholders exist. Establish and maintain communications processes, standards and best practices. Partner with HR counterparts on a regular basis to understand how HR activities impact staff . Help lead efforts for regular (quarterly, annual, biannual) all staff meetings and leadership meetings, including ensuring that key messages are in alignment with overall communications plan Assist in developing internal presentations . Assist in executing staff events and activities. Assist in developing communications plans for leaders. Maintain daily news and information on web portal and ensure timely communications of news and information for the site through a variety of media.
