Arbour Group is looking for a full-time Senior Data Architect to join their client's organization, a leading elevator and escalator consulting and inspection firm in the U.S.

The Senior Data Architect will collaborate closely with the Product Owner and Power BI Developer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise data solutions leveraging Microsoft Data Factory and Microsoft Data Fabric. This role is responsible for architecting scalable data pipelines, ensuring robust data integration, and driving best practices in data management and governance. The Senior Data Architect will transform technical requirements into actionable solutions, support the development team, and champion data quality and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design:
  • Design and implement enterprise data architectures using MS Data Factory and MS Data Fabric.
  • Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines and workflows.
  • Define data modeling standards and ensure consistency across platforms.
Data Integration & Management:
  • Integrate data from diverse sources (cloud, on-premises, APIs) into unified data platforms.
  • Oversee ETL/ELT processes and optimize data movement and transformation.
  • Ensure data lineage, cataloging, and metadata management.
Collaboration:
  • Work directly with the Product Owner and Power BI Developers to gather and translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Support the development team in solution delivery and troubleshooting.
Performance & Security:
  • Enforce data governance, privacy, and security standards.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data architecture performance and reliability.
  • Implement best practices for data quality, auditing, and compliance.
Innovation & Support:
  • Stay current with advancements in MS Data Factory, MS Data Fabric, and related technologies.
  • Advocate for modern data architecture patterns and emerging trends.
  • Support end-users and provide training on data platform capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years in data architecture or engineering, with significant experience in MS Data Factory and MS Data Fabric.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and cloud data integration.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Azure Data Architect or related Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, or other cloud data platforms.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.
